Note
This privacy policy applies to our website and to all our published games on
Google Play and the App Store.
Who we are
PlayFrenzy is a mobile game publishing company that delivers fun and engaging
gaming experiences to players worldwide. With a focus on mobile games,
PlayFrenzy’s titles are designed for accessibility and addictive gameplay
mechanics that keep players coming back for more.
Summary of what we collect
Most of our games can be played without an account, and in that case we do not collect information that identifies you personally.
Some of our games offer optional online multiplayer. Playing online requires
an account, and it does involve personal information — including information
that other players can see. If you never use online multiplayer, nothing in the
“Online multiplayer” section below applies to you.
What personal data do we collect and why do we collect it
There are two types of information we may collect through your use of the Apps:
- “Personal Information” — information that specifically identifies you
personally and/or can be used alone to contact you online or offline, such as your full name, physical address, email address, telephone number,
photograph, precise geolocation information, credit card information and, in
some cases, user names. - “Non-personal Information” — information that does not identify you and
cannot be used to contact you personally, including your date of birth, age,
ZIP code, non-precise geolocation information (e.g. your city), and gender, as well as information about your device such as a unique device ID, Internet Protocol (IP) address or other persistent identifiers, and their
hardware/software/firmware. Non-personal Information also includes “Usage Data” — anonymous data tied to your device, such as the actions you take within the Apps, the date and time of your use, your game progress, playtime, score and achievements.
Single-player and offline play
When you download and use our Apps for single-player or local play, we do not
require you to provide any personal information, and we do not collect personal
information about you, except:
- if you (or a parent) send us an email, we collect the email address solely to
provide support.
Online multiplayer
Online multiplayer is optional and off by default. You choose whether to
use it. When you do, we collect and process the following.
Account and sign-in
To play online you need an account. You can either:
- Sign in with Google, in which case we receive your email address, name and profile photo from Google; or
- Play as a guest, in which case we create an anonymous account identified
only by a randomly generated account ID.
You may later link a guest account to a Google account, at which point the
Google information above is added to it.
We store an account ID for every player. This identifier is how your profile,
rating and match records are associated with you.
Your player profile
- A display name that you choose. Names are checked against a blocked-word list, but you are responsible for the name you pick.
- An avatar, chosen from a preset set.
Information other players can see
This is important, so we state it plainly. When you play an online match, your
opponent can see:
- your display name;
- your avatar;
- your skill rating and number of games played;
- whether you are currently connected to the match.
Do not use a display name you would not want a stranger to see.
Gameplay and match data
For each online match we store the moves played, the time each player took, the
result, and the resulting change to your skill rating. We also keep aggregate
statistics on your profile: games played, won, lost and drawn, and your current
and best winning streaks. Match records are retained after the match ends so that ratings and statistics remain accurate and so that we can investigate
reports.
Presence
While you are in an online match we store your connection status (online or
offline) and the identifier of the match you are in. This is what allows your
opponent to be told when you disconnect, and it is deleted when you are no
longer in a match.
Reports
Players can report another player during or after a match. When you submit a
report we store your account ID, the reported player’s account ID, their display
name at the time of the report, the match involved, and the reason you selected.
Reports are visible only to us, never to other players — including the person
reported. We use them to investigate and act on breaches of our rules.
We do not offer chat or private messaging between players, and we do not
collect message content of any kind.
Use of the Non-personal Information that we collect
Non-personal Information may be used by us for administrative, analytical,
research, optimization, security, and other purposes. Specifically, we may use it
to:
- track your use of our Apps to help us learn more about your gaming activities
and enhance your gaming experience; - compile statistics;
- protect against cheating, crime, or fraud, or for other security reasons;
- determine the jurisdiction in which you are located so we can determine what
set of laws apply to you; - personalize content and serve contextual (not behavioral) advertising.
Children — Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of
13 in violation of COPPA. If a user identifies themselves as a child under 13
through a support request, we will not collect, store or use, and will securely
delete, any personal information of that user.
Online multiplayer is not available to children under 13. Online play
requires an account and displays a player-chosen name to other players, and we
restrict it accordingly. players must confirm they are 13 or older before creating an online account.
Single-player and local play remain available to all ages and do not collect
personal information.
We may collect Non-personal Information, such as a device ID or other persistent identifier linked to the device, which may be used by a child to play our Apps.
That data is anonymous, is not tied to any Personal Information, and is used
solely for internal purposes such as personalisation of content, security, and
contextual (not behavioural) advertising.
If you are a parent of a child under 13 and you believe your child has provided
us with Personal Information, please contact us at contact@playfrenzy.co and we will delete it from our systems.
Information sharing and disclosure
We do not rent or sell your personal information.
We use Support Information only for the support of the internal operations of our apps as provided under Section 312.2 of the COPPA rules effective July 1, 2013.
We do not rent, sell or share your email address unless we have your express
consent and in the following circumstances:
- We may share your Support Information with our support providers, but only for the purpose of providing support to you.
- We may share your email address and/or Support Information: (a) to protect the security or integrity of our Apps; (b) to take precautions against liability; (c) to respond to judicial process; or (d) to the extent permitted under other provisions of law, to provide information to law enforcement agencies or for an investigation on a matter related to public safety — where such information is not used for any other purpose, all in compliance with Section 312.5(c)(6) of the COPPA rules effective July 1, 2013.
- Between players. As described above, your display name, avatar, rating and connection status are shown to your opponent during an online match.
- Service providers. We use the third-party services listed below to operate
the Apps. They process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes, except as described in their own policies.
Where your data is stored
Data for online multiplayer is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure in the
United States. If you use our Apps from outside the United States, your
information will be transferred to and processed there.
Data retention and deletion
- Profile data (display name, avatar, rating, statistics) is kept while your
account exists. - Match records are kept after a match ends so that ratings and statistics
remain accurate and so that reports can be investigated. - Presence data is removed when you leave a match.
- Reports are kept for as long as needed to investigate and act on them.
You can delete your online account from within the app, on the profile
screen. Deleting your account removes your profile, display name, avatar,
rating and statistics.
Please note that records of matches you played may be retained, because they are also part of another player’s game history. Where retained, they reference an account identifier that is no longer linked to a profile.
You may also request deletion by emailing contact@playfrenzy.co.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete,
or export your personal information, to object to or restrict its processing, and
to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, contact us at
contact@playfrenzy.co. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your
local data protection authority.
